What days and times do you fly?
We are open 7 days a week and will do our best to accommodate our customers’ specific needs. Our customers complete experience satisfaction always come first. Flights typically leave in the morning starting at 8am in 1-2 hour intervals. Please see schedule for recommended flight times. We are happy to work with you on your specific desires. Safety is always our first priority at Angelo Air Tours.. Our pilots are trained beyond the necessary rotorcraft rating and are also Certified Flight Instructors.
How far in advance should I reserve the helicopter or make my reservation?
We request bookings be made as far in advance as possible so we are able to accommodate your scheduling desires. Helicopter tours make great graduation, birthday, anniversary, holiday or other special occasion gifts, so try to call us well in advance so we can make arrangements for you. 48 hour requests are desirable, but check with us on short term availability, we are happy to work with you.
What is the best way to make a reservation and book our tour?
Booking on our website is the easiest. Please log onto either: angeloairtours.com or winecountryairtours.com to view schedules and book a tour. Also call our toll free number (800) 507-1985 and we will be able to assist you over the phone.
Do we share the helicopter with other passengers?
Since we only reserve helicopter for tours with a minimum of two people, the helicopter will be used with your party only and no other passengers. We want you to enjoy your tour without other distractions, so consider the helicopter yours until we get back on the ground. Special arrangements can be made for parties of one.
What time do I need to arrive for my helicopter tour?
We prefer all passengers arrive 20 minutes prior to their scheduled time of departure. This will allow us to pre-flight all passengers regarding safety and comfort issues and permit a timely departure.
After the helicopter tour, where do we pick up the limo?
The limo will be awaiting your arrival as you return from your helicopter fight. The limo will return you to your airport of departure, unless other arrangements are made. Hotel pick-up and drop-off are available.
Can we meet or be picked up somewhere other than Napa County Airport or Petaluma Airport?
Yes. If you chose not to meet at one of the airports, the limo can pick you up at your hotel or place of choice. There will be an incremental limo charge for this service.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Angelo Air Tours requires a minimum 24-hour cancellation notice, of course the more ample notice the better. Any tour cancelled in less than 24 hours prior to departure is subject to a $50.00 fee. If you’re able to reschedule your tour there is no fee for rescheduling. Upon completion of the rescheduled tour, there will be no additional fee.
What if there is inclement weather the day of my flight?
In the case of in climate weather the day of your helicopter tour, the flight will be rescheduled for a time that is convenient for you. You will be given scheduling priority. There is no charge if you decide not to reschedule your tour due to inclement weather. However, the limo tour of the Napa Valley and wineries can proceed on schedule if you desire.
How many passengers can fly in the helicopter?
Our primary tour helicopter is a Robinson R44 which has 3 passenger seats with great window views. The front seat, next to the pilot offers the most panoramic views.
Will the pilot talk to us and can we ask questions during the flight?
Yes, the pilot will talk to you and point out all the surroundings of the tour. The pilot is highly educated on the surroundings and will be glad to answer questions. All passengers will be wearing headsets so you are also able to talk amongst yourselves in the helicopter.
Can I bring my video camera and/or still camera?
Please do!. Robinson helicopters provide a smooth ride, and since every seat has a window, you will have pictures to last a lifetime. If you take any great footage or shots you would like to share with us, let us know and we will gladly add them to our website and posters. You can never have enough pictures.
Can we bring wine or alcoholic beverages on the flight?
No. Open alcohol containers are not allowed. Also, no level of intoxication is allowed when boarding the helicopter. To maximize comfort aboard the helo, we recommend you bring essential carry ons only such as purse, camera bags etc. After the flight, in the limo and at the wineries, the wine can flow. Please , no open beverage containers on board the helicopter.
We had an awesome time and our pilot was great, can the pilot accept gratuities?
Tipping is at your discretion and should be based upon the service provided. Please do not feel pressured, but any tip received is greatly appreciated.
